Make Up | Peachy Glow Cheek Palette by Tanya Burr

Today, I wanted to talk about this cheek palette. I bought this recently because I wanted a palette which is ideal for travelling. This palette has all you need to create a glowing look.

This is the Peachy Glow Cheek Palette by Tanya Burr. I decided to go for this one opposed to the rosy cheek palette as I haven't tried peachy shades on my face before and thought it would bring some warmth in these cold months.

I love it, I would recommend giving this a go, the shades are very well pigmented and you can mostly definitely create a bronzed/peachy glowing look with this. This palette is full of shimmer so if you prefer matte bronze or blusher shades this isn't for you.

I particularly like the highlighter, champagne shimmer, it so shimmery and highlights the cheek bones brilliantly.

You can see in the selfie below the full affect of all three shades on my cheeks. I love it!

Beauty | Skincare Haul

I recently bought some more skincare, and I decided to mainly buy from Simple - I think these items were on special offer at the time.

I will talk through each one left to right.

First I purchased a usual favourite of mine, the Kind To Skin Moisturising Facial Wash by Simple. I normally use this type of facial wash in the shower to cleanse my face, and I like to take this travelling. I don't know if I have mentioned it but I am going on holiday very soon and am stocking up for it!

Second I bought a new Night Cream, Vital Vitamin by Simple. I have grown to like using night creams, as at night your skin likes to repair and rejuvenate so using an intense moisturiser helps enhances this. I like the sound of this and it was an affordable price (under £5).

Next I got another moisturiser this one is for the daytime and is Kind To Skin Protecting Light Moisturiser. This moisturiser has SPF 15 in it, which is very important even at this time of year to protect your skin from UV rays. I prefer to use much lighter moisturisers for the daytime and thought I would try this out.

Finally I bought Boots Essentials Cucumber Eye Gel, I did intend to get the Simple eye balm but boots was out of stock at the time, and I thought I would try this out. I mainly like to use eye creams/balms/gels to keep my under eyes moisturised/hydrated as I find it feels tight under my eyes sometimes - dehydrated. I also wanted to see what this cheaper option would be like, see if I really need to splash out on eye creams.

And that's everything I bought, what are your favourite drugstore moisturisers? Let me know in the comments.

Life | My Fitness Essentials

Its the new year and I'm off on holiday soon so it was time to get my act together fitness wise after slumping it a bit over christmas.

Before christmas, I was going on about two runs a week sometimes more and on average I run 2.5 miles locally to my house. I tend to do this after work around 5.30pm, and after sitting at a desk all day it really helps me to unwind and get some fresh air. And this is what I am back to at the moment.

I thought I would share my essentials for my workout baring in mind at the moment it is in the dark and cold!

First of all I love to wear my bright, vibrant leggings and sports bra from USA Pro. Very good brand and great value for money with their items. Sportswear can be quite expensive but USA Pro is great quality at a reasonable price.

Then I like to throw on a hoodie, normally oversized. This particular one in the photo is from New Look, I also have one from Next which I use a lot. Any hoodie will do really just something to throw on to keep me warm this time of year.

Next obviously is a decent pair of trainers, I have Nike Zoomair I think they are called, they really support the arch of my foot and have a lot of cushioning which keeps me going. I always go with Nike for a pair of great work out trainers. I would recommend investing in an awesome pair which are tailored to look after your feet.

Accessories wise I have an arm strap to hold my phone in so I can listen to running playlists as well as track my work out. I then have my headphones, phone and a torch to help me see where I'm going in the darkest parts of my route. I also have two LED motion sensitive lights on my shoes, mainly so others can see me in the dark. They are something I got for christmas and are very useful.

That's what I take and wear when running, what do you find are your fitness essentials?

Beauty | Zoella Beauty Draws

Photographs taken by me - Nicola Harrow

For christmas I was given this lovely set of Zoella Beauty products which came in a set of draws. I am a fan of her products and was absolutely delighted when I was given this gift. This set of draws comes with a lovely selection of her products.

I don't know if the draws are still on sale as I think they were limited edition but majority of the items you can buy individually. The scent is from her original range, very crisp and fresh - aloe vera is in it I think.

I'll start by describing each product in clockwise order in the collage below.

First, Flowers and Showers, a lovely floral edition of her shower gel. I love the size (500ml) of these bottles as they are great for travelling, but at the same time not a mini size.

Second, Soak Opera Bath Soak and Shower Cream (500ml), this product can be bought as a much bigger bottle and I have already bought this for myself in the past - its lovely! One I would recommend trying as it is a great all rounder, plus can be used as bubble bath or shower gel! I think I will be taking this on holiday as it is the perfect size for 2 weeks.

Thirdly, Creamy Madly Dreamy Body Lotion (500ml), this is another product you can buy separately which I haven't tried and am very excited to. The scent is the original, very fresh and crisp.

Then we have two Fizz Bars, I think they both smell the same as they do not indicate otherwise. I have tried the other fizz bars before by Zoella Beauty and they are great to add a little something extra to your bath.

Next is Butter Me Up Body Butter (100ml), this is an exclusive to the draws. As a body butter it is a much richer moisturiser and I look forward to trying this. I will use it after a bath.

Lastly, there was two accessories with the set, a small shower lily, which is always useful to have! The other is a small cosmetic bag that says "too cute!". I have another cosmetic bag of this size and they are very useful to keep essentials in your handbag.

I must also mention that the draws themselves are very useful to store makeup and other beauty products. I don't have space at the moment for it but I am keeping them to use in the future.

And that's everything thanks for reading! Did any of you get any Zoella Beauty products for christmas, and if so what is your favourite?

Make Up | Kiko Haul

I have done a little shopping in the Xmas/January Sales, and I popped into Kiko and picked up these two items.

First I picked another Kiko Nail Polish in the shade 530 Pearly Blue Peacock. This is a glittery turquoise colour with specks of green and blue glitter. I find the colour combinations in this polish so pretty and thought this colour was perfect for New Year's Eve.

Secondly I bought the Ultimate Pen Long Wear Eyeliner. This is a very intense black and very easy to apply, its almost as good as L'Oreal Superliner. I love it, I took a quick selfie to show how I wear my eyeliner for an everyday look (image below). I would highly recommend this eyeliner.

That's everything I bought from Kiko, what have you guys bought in the Xmas/January Sales? Please leave comments of any make up recommendations, I love trying new products!

Skincare | Peaches and Clean Cleansing Milk, Soap and Glory

Today, I wanted to share with you my current cleanser. This is Peaches and Clean Milk Cleanser by Soap and Glory. It is an amazing product, I use it every morning and it is a great to start the day as it leaves your skin feeling refreshed. I also use it at night to take off my make up and to clear any dirt away from a long day. I have to say I do need to use my micellar water to help take off my eye makeup sometimes as this product doesn't quite take off heavy eyeliner completely, but for simple make up it works like a dream.

The smell is gorgeous and the bottle lasts for absolutely ages, which makes the £8 cost for this item so worth it. This product is not travel friendly as it is quite large. You could pop it into a small travel bottle to take away, but I normally take a different smaller face wash on holiday.

All in all, I would highly recommend this product, it really keeps my skin clear and glowing!

Life | Happy New Year!

Hey guys, I know I haven't posted in a while, I gave myself a little break over christmas and new year. In this post I wanted to reflect on 2015 and look forward to what I hope to achieve in 2016.

2015 has been a great year for me looking back, this time last year I didn't expect to have achieved so much in one year. You could argue that they were little things which happened but looking back now I really think no Nicola you should take a moment to feel happy with yourself and what you have achieved, as should we all! I managed to finally find myself a full-time job (apposed to temporary work) since graduating from university in 2014, and feel things are moving forward for me in my career path. Secondly, I finally passed my driving test and bought a car! I had been learning for about a year and passed both theory and practical test in 2015. For me this has opened a lot of doors and given me the independence I have been craving since returning home after graduating university.

That's two major things which happened in 2015, there were many other little things that happened and have made it one of the best years of my life. I would say even better than graduating from university!

2016, I hope to accomplish many more of the little things that looking back will make me feel like I am finding myself. I hope to build my independence even more, and work on my fitness. Mainly, I want to keep up how the last year has gone and keep building my life how I wish. It's as simple as that. I have one very exciting holiday to Singapore and Thailand coming up next month. I have never been to either of these destinations and am so excited to discover new places and experience new cultures. I will definitely write a couple of blog posts about this holiday once I have returned!

I hope you enjoyed my blog over 2015, I started this blog about a year ago now and love sharing my thoughts on beauty, fashion and life with all of you!

I hope 2015 has been a great year for you as well, and hope 2016 will bring the same happiness!

Happy New Year!
